GEOFF
JENNINGS
Geoff
Jennings' work is famous; we have been looking at it for years on packaging and
in brochures, and advertisements. Like a familiar actor he crops up everywhere;
it could be the set of a James Bond movie or the Lord of The Rings premier, it
might be a Hornby train catalogue or a giant Easter egg, Geoff has done it all.
Trained
at Birmingham College of Art in Graphic Design and Illustration in the 1950's
Geoff Jennings belongs to a generation of artists who were highly trained in
drawing and all the associated crafts necessary for success in the world of
commercial art.
Geoff
began his career at Cadbury's Bournville, then moved on to work for Ford Motors
in Essex. From there he went to London where he worked for several
studios and agencies eventually becoming a director.
Since
moving to The Forest of Dean he has been freelance and developed his sculptural
work in giant pieces up 25 feet high; these are used for television and
corporate events. He is also an accomplished clay modeller; where his
wildlife subjects reflect his passion for nature.
Geoff's
enthusiasm for the world around him is celebrated in his work, whether it be
Deep Sea Fishing you can see his work at Seafresh in Cinderford or drawings of
rooks in the tree tops you know that you are in the presence of an artist of
The Old School, a master of his craft.
To
quote Geoff, I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed making it.
Geoff
is a member of Artier, a group of
artists in the Forest of Dean and some of his work can be seen there.
Geoff
is also a member of Clay Hill
Potters in Newnham on Severn
